The Guardian Tag is supplementary. It does not replace statutory microchipping — dogs (UK-wide) and owned cats (England) must be microchipped and registered by law. Price includes VAT; delivery is calculated at checkout. A 14-day cancellation right applies to unused tags — see refunds & returns.

What a Finder Sees

They scan the tag

The QR code opens your pet's finder page in any phone browser — pet's name, photo and your safe message. Nothing personal, ever.

You get alerted

An instant notification tells you the tag was scanned. If the finder shares their location, you'll see roughly where.

You connect, privately

The finder messages or calls you through Aegis Pet Hub's relay. You arrange the reunion — neither of you ever sees the other's number.

Better together

Tag for Speed.
Chip for Certainty.

Most lost pets are found by neighbours, not vets. The Guardian Tag turns any passer-by into a rescuer in ten seconds — and if the collar ever comes off, the microchip registration is still there underneath.

Guardian Tag Questions

Does the tag track my pet's location?
No — there's no GPS or battery in the tag. You get the finder's approximate location only if they choose to share it when they scan. For live tracking you'd need a separate GPS device.
Do I need an Aegis Pet Hub registration to use the tag?
You need a free Aegis Pet Hub account to activate and manage the tag. We strongly recommend registering the microchip with us too, so alerts, contacts and lost-pet status all live in one record — but the tag works alongside a chip registered on any UK database.
What if my details change?
Nothing is printed on the tag except the QR code and a short code, so there's nothing to re-engrave. Update your details in your account and the tag instantly points to the new ones.
What if the tag is lost or damaged?
Suspend it from your dashboard so the old QR goes dormant, then order a replacement and link it to the same pet. Replacement linking is free.
Is it safe for cats?
Yes — it's light enough for cat collars. Always pair it with a quick-release safety collar for cats, and remember owned cats in England must also be microchipped by 20 weeks.
