The rules that apply when you create an account, register a microchip record, or otherwise use the Aegis Pet Hub platform.
Aegis Pet Hub is operated by Aegis Pet Hub Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (“Aegis”, “we”, “us”). These terms govern your use of the website at aegispethub.co.uk, the microchip registry services we provide through it, and our telephone enquiry line. They apply to keepers, implanters, rescues and other professional users alike; where a clause applies only to one type of user, it says so.
For details of our approval status as a pet microchip database in each UK nation, see the Regulatory & Approved-Status Notice at /regulatory-status. That page is the single authoritative statement of our status and takes precedence over any status wording elsewhere.
You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate, current information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. Tell us promptly at support@aegispethub.co.uk if you believe your account has been compromised.
Professional accounts (for example implanters, veterinary practices and rescues) may be subject to additional verification before role-specific features are enabled.
When you register a pet, we create an entry on our registry linking the microchip number to the keeper details you provide. You confirm that the information you submit is accurate and that you are entitled to register the animal.
A registration on Aegis Pet Hub is evidence that an entry exists on our registry. It is not conclusive legal proof of ownership of the animal, and we do not adjudicate ownership disputes. Disputes over ownership are matters for the parties involved and, where necessary, the courts.
You must keep your registered details up to date, including changes of address and contact details, as required by microchipping regulations applicable in your nation.
Some services are free and others are chargeable; the price is always shown before you commit to pay. Payments are taken by card through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store your full payment card details; they are handled by Stripe. Prices include VAT where applicable. Our cancellation and refund rules are set out in the Refunds, Returns & Cancellations policy at /refunds-returns.
Our statutory microchip enquiry line on 020 8051 2117 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, alongside our always-available online lookup and reporting routes. General customer support (account help, billing and other non-urgent queries) is available Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm. The 24/7 line is for microchip enquiries and reunification; it is not a general support channel.
We aim for high availability of the online service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may carry out maintenance with reasonable notice where practical.
We may suspend or close an account, or restrict features, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, where required by law or a regulator, or to protect the integrity of the registry or the safety of any person or animal. Where lawful and practical we will tell you the reason and how to appeal. Statutory registry records may be retained after account closure as described in our Privacy Notice.
The platform, its content and branding belong to us or our licensors. You keep the rights in the information and images you submit, and you grant us the licence needed to operate the registry and provide the service, including sharing record data with authorised parties for reunification and compliance purposes as described in the Privacy Notice.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by users, for events outside our reasonable control, or for business losses where you use the service as a consumer. If you use the service as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version number and effective date appear at the top of this page, and we keep a record of the version you accepted when you created your account or when you next confirmed acceptance after a change. For significant changes we will give reasonable advance notice by email or in-product message.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you always benefit from any mandatory consumer protections of the nation in which you live. If you are unhappy with the service, please use our Complaints Policy at /complaints first.
